A pavilion devoted to prescription digital therapeutics and an educational track devoted to biosimilars are new this year.
Officials at the Academy of Managed Care Pharmacy (AMCP) are expecting the 3,500 attendees at the organization’s meeting San Antonio, Texas, a 19% increase over the attendance at meeting in Chicago.
The meeting, which stared with slate of pre-conference sessions today, kicks off tomorrow and ends on Friday. It is being held at the Henry B. González Convention Center.
Robin Roberts is scheduled to speak at a general session Wednesday afternoon at the annual meeting of the Academy of Managed Care Pharmacy (AMCP).
Robin Roberts, the co-anchor of ABC’s Good Morning America, is scheduled to address a general session of the meeting tomorrow at 1:30 p.m. Douglas Long, MBA, vice president, industry relations, IQVIA and a regular speaker at AMCP meetings, is scheduled to give the keynote Thursday morning at 8 a.m.
The meeting organizers said the exhibit hall at the meeting will have about 70 exhibitors.
AMCP has been a backer of prescription digital therapeutics (PDTs)and new to the meeting this year is a pavilion devoted to PDT companies and their wares. Another innovation is track devoted to biosimilars.
The meeting also has sessions on topics that are featured at most AMCP meeting, such as the drugs in late-stage development (“the pipeline”), updates on legislation, and healthcare disparities. The meeting also has numerous sessions on particular diseases and managed care issues.
