He spoke today at 9 am PST at the 2024 American Academy of Dermatology meeting and said that one of the main controversies in treating atopic dermatitis is the box warning attached to topical calcineurin inhibitors.
"This has been around now 20 plus years and repeatedly studies have shown that the box warning prohibiting our use in children younger than is a safeguard, it keeps it out of the hands of patients who need it."
The clinical associate professor at the Rosalind Franklin University Chicago Medical School and founder and director of the Center for Medical Dermatology and Immunology Research in Chicago, spoke in a session over the weekend at the American Academy Dermatology meeting about conditions that may mimic atopic dermatitis.
