Menard has found success through physician alignment, involvement and pay-for-performance to help members access screenings and to achieve certain healthcare goals, moving in the direction of the medical home concept. She has combined these efforts with holistic, pharmacy, medical and behavioral health approaches. Furthering the medical home idea, her programs use coaches in physician offices to empower and manage patients.
Menard leads the development and implementation efforts of the company's health promotion and care management strategies, including chronic DM, health coaching, wellness programs and case management. She has been with Independent Health since 1996. Prior to her affiliation, she served as assistant vice president, ambulatory services, at Sisters of Charity Hospital in Buffalo.
Menard, a nurse practitioner, has a bachelor's degree in nursing from the University of Miami (Fla.) and a master's degree in nursing from State University of New York at Buffalo, as well as a master's degree in business administration from Canisius College, also in Buffalo.
