CVS Health recently made some leadership changes with the appointment of Len Shankman as president of Pharmacy and Consumer Wellness and Lucille Accetta as chief pharmacy officer.
Both leaders will report to Prem Shah, group president at CVS Health, with role changes taking effect immediately.
As president, Shankman will oversee CVS’s front-store and retail pharmacy operations, which span more than 9,000 locations nationwide, according to a news release from CVS Health. He will also lead efforts to provide digitally-integrated health and wellness services.
Shankman has been with CVS Health since 2002, holding various leadership roles, including his most recent role of senior vice president and chief financial officer for Pharmacy and Consumer Wellness.
David Joyner, president and CEO of CVS Health, commented on Shankman’s disciplined and strategic guidance that will help CVS Pharmacy grow further as a trusted resource for their communities.
Accetta, in her new role, will focus on advocating for pharmacists in healthcare. In addition, she will work to connect CVS’s pharmacy operations across its enterprise and oversee Specialty Pharmacy, Coram and Omnicare businesses.
She joined CVS Health in 2017, holding roles within the Specialty Pharmacy division. She previously had leadership positions at Teva Pharmaceuticals, Express Scripts and Medco.
“Our specialty pharmacy is entrusted with the care of people who are facing challenging and complex diagnoses,” said Joyner in the release. “Lucille leads with heart, driving the operational excellence our patients deserve along with instilling in our team an unwavering focus on caring for patients.”
These leadership changes reflect CVS Health’s efforts to enhance pharmacy services and healthcare experiences to meet the needs of its customers.
