Digital health platform Wellvolution adds Spanish webpage and an at-home hypertension tracking feature.
Blue Shield of California’s digital health platform Wellvolution has added a webpage option in Spanish, as well as Dario, an at-home solution for hypertension.
Over 148,000 Blue Shield of California members use Wellvolution, which is a supplemental, free healthcare program members can use to help stay on track.
Members can now sign up, select their health goal, complete a health questionnaire, and receive personalized program recommendations - all in Spanish.
Over a quarter of Californians speak Spanish at home and research shows Hispanic communities are more likely to have trouble accessing health services than other groups because of language barriers.
Dario is another new feature also available in Spanish at no extra cost to members. The program gathers information from patients’ Bluetooth-enabled blood pressure monitors and a health care coach provides personalized advice through the app. Research shows that 71% of Dario users saw improvements within the first three months which is promising for the 30% of Californians who have hypertension.
Spanish-speaking members can visit Wellvolution.com/es to enroll in Wellvolution or to get started with Dario.
